Programme description
The Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology equips students with the knowledge and skills to transform farm produce into safe, high quality, and nutritious foods. The program covers the science behind food processing, preservation, quality control, and food safety. Through hands on training and applied learning, students gain practical experience in food production, processing techniques, packaging, laboratory testing, and compliance with food safety standards. This experiential focus prepares graduates to meet the demands of modern food industries and respond to the growing need for safe, nutritious, and sustainably produced foods amid population growth, changing consumer preferences, and rising public health concerns. Graduates are equipped to contribute effectively in food production, regulatory agencies, research institutions, and quality assurance roles, or to establish their own food enterprises, supporting national and global efforts to enhance food security, safety, and innovation
