Programme description
The Bachelor of Science in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BSc. ASLP) is a comprehensive four years professional degree program. Audiology focuses on the assessment, management, and rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders, while Speech Language Pathology addresses the diagnosis and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders across human lifespan. This program is highly relevant, preparing practitioners to meet the growing global demand for services driven by an aging population, increased awareness of communication disorders, and advances in neonatal and pediatric healthcare. The curriculum is designed to produce dual qualified professionals, beginning with a strong foundation in basic and applied sciences including anatomy, physiology, linguistics, electronics, and acoustics before progressing to specialized professional training. Students develop in depth competence in Audiology, covering hearing assessment, amplification technologies, implantable hearing devices, and aural rehabilitation, alongside Speech Language Pathology, with training in voice, speech, language, and fluency disorders. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional ethics to assess, diagnose, and manage individuals with hearing and speech-language disorders, making them essential contributors to healthcare, education, and rehabilitation teams.
